On Sunday mornings Union Church makes an effort to gather together to worship God. This doesn’t take too much effort as we love spending time with each other and Jesus, so we look forward to Sundays.
Hopefully these FAQs will help you join us on a Sunday soon:
When and where is it?
We meet at 10.30am on Sunday mornings at our chapel on Sandringham Road, Hunstanton.
Where can I park?
You can park on the surrounding streets or in the Community Centre car park on Sandringham Road. There are also a number of pay & display car parks nearby.
What should I wear?
Please feel free to wear whatever you are comfortable in, people range in dress code from smart to casual.
What should I expect?
When you enter the chapel through the blue door to the rear, you’ll be met by people from the church who will welcome you and give you a song book and notice sheet for the service.
You’re then welcome to find a free seat and don’t worry about sitting in someones regular spot, we don’t mind seeing things from a different perspective.
Our services usually include:
A time of worship (where we sing songs to Jesus),
Some announcements of what's coming up in the life of the church
Some Bible teaching that is relevant and can be applied to everyday life
A time of prayer
A collection/offering (please feel free to let the bag pass you by)
Communion (the first Sunday of the month)
Lastly, we expect God to speak and work among us, so don’t be surprised if he speaks to you through the service too.
Will I have to do anything?
No, you’re welcome to just listen and sit quietly. We won’t make anyone pray, sing or say anything out loud. But you’re also welcome to join in.
What about children?
We encourage children to sit with their families during the first part of the service which usually includes a family talk and action song, we also have instruments available for them to play along with during the other songs.
The children usually then head downstairs for Blue Crew (ages 4-11) where we have a team of people with resources to help the children learn more about being followers of Jesus.
There is also a creche area available throughout the service in the downstairs hall though we currently do not have a team to look after babies and toddlers, so a parent will need to remain with them.
On the first Sunday of the month we take communion together before the children leave for their activities so they can witness or partake in communion (at their parents discretion). Anyone is welcome to take communion as a sign of their faith in Christ’s death and resurrection.
What happens afterwards?
When the service finishes there are refreshments available at the back of church. We love spending time worshipping God but we also enjoy spending time with each other, so we enjoy catching up over a hot drink before heading home.
How can I find out more on Sunday mornings about the church?
Union is welcoming and loving church so I hope you will be welcomed by someone and given a chance to ask questions. If they can’t answer a question, I’ll sure they’ll find someone that can. Failing that, Sam, our minister would be happy to help you but even ministers doesn’t have all the answers!
Are there audio copies of there service available?
Each Sunday the Service is recorded, for people unable to attend Church, the recording is available to download on this website, or is available on CD if you wish.
Please feel free to use the contacts on the website if you would like anymore information.
